The question of who I am is daily brought to the forefront of my mind. The reasoning behind this? I'm a college student. I go to class and listen to old people tell me how I can change the world with my innovation and blah, blah, blah. Who says I can change anything, let alone the world? You? You're just my Biology professor. But then I got to thinking- my Biology professor changes the world every day. My professor prepares future Biologists for their careers. So...who is my professor? He is a "shaper" of future scientists. Knowing who you are is not just knowing your career path, though; so how does he know who he is truly, as a person? My guess is that he doesn't, and never will. So, folks, let's stop wasting times on things that are silly and pointless. Let's accept the fact that we will never know who we are. Let's see ourselves as human beings whose capabilities are unknown by us. We are human beings who are all the same, when it comes down to it. The individualistic views and society we have today with smartphones, Facebook, and even this blog, is turning us all into egotistical, self-proclaimed non-conformists. We are all Homo sapiens. Deal with it.
